Instructors
In addition to Kristin Pagan, the owner and director of K. Moniques Studio of Dance, there are several talented instructors on our staff:
Kristin M. Pagan, Owner, Director, and Choreographer
Kristin Monique Pagan began dancing at age 3 and has studied most styles of dance which include ballet, hip-hop, jazz, tap, lyrical, musical theater, and ballroom dancing. She is also a certified group ex and zumba fitness instructor, and her dance studio holds daily classes in both. Kristin began choreographing dance routines at age 17 for the Homestead High School’s Show Choir. She is now in her 13th year of teaching and is the owner/director of K. Moniques’s Studio of Dance in the Covington Plaza Shopping Center at 6336 West Jefferson Blvd in Fort Wayne, IN. Under her professional direction, Kristin’s competitive dancers have won numerous awards in "First Overall", "Best of Show", "Best Choreography", "Best Costume", "Best Entertainment", and "Judges Choice Encore" awards and her dancers have obtained full-ride dance scholarships to prestigious performing arts schools. She is The University of Saint Francis Head Dance Team Director/Choreographer. Kristin has also volunteered countless hours to the Fort Wayne community by holding demonstrations, seminars, and workshops for charities, area businesses, and local schools around the city. Kristin’s passion is her love for children and watching them grow in Life Through Movement.
Cassi Bregenzer
Cassi has been dancing for sixteen years, including eight years of competitive dance. She trained in the styles of jazz, ballet, tap, hip-hop, lyrical, pointe, and modern. Cassi had the opportunity to perform at local, regional, and national dance competitions while under the direction of several different dance studios in the Fort Wayne area. She began teaching/assistant teaching dance classes at the age of fourteen. In 2009, Cassi became a dancer for the Freedom Football team in Fort Wayne. Cassi is currently the head coach for Snider High School Dance Team. She has been dancing for K. Monique's Studio of Dance for three years and teaching/choreographing for K. Monique's Studio of Dance for two years. Along with the art of dance, Cassi is very passionate about children, family, and friends.
Cristina Ray-Durnell, Instructor
Cristina has been dancing since the age of 7 and began instructing at 14. She studied jazz, tap, ballet, hip-hop, and modern dance. Cristina was the owner and director of New Routine Studio of Dance for eight years. During those years she coached the Bishop Dwenger High School Dance Team for four years and was the head coach for the Fort Wayne Freedom Starz dance team in 2004. She judges for the Indiana High School Dance Team Association for the past six years. Cristina competed and choreographed many routines for competitions on the local, regional, and national levels, earning her numerous awards through the years. She earned her bachelor's degree in business management and a minor in dance in 2007 from IPFW. Cristina is the General Manager for her family-owned business, el Azteca Mexican Restaurant. She is a certified Zumba instructor. Christina's passion is dance; her love for dance has shown through in all her years as an instructor.

Jill Heath, Instructor
Jill has extensive training in tap, jazz, ballet, hip hop, musical theatre, and modern dance. Growing up as a competitive dancer, she won numerous awards including scholarships to The Edge Performing Arts Center and Broadway Dance Center. She was fortunate enough to train under top choreographers such as Terry Beeman, John Crutchman, Jackie Sleight, Desiree Robbins, Joe Tremaine, and several others. After training in Los Angeles she learned her true passion was teaching and choreographing, so she moved back to Indiana and opened Beyond Dance Studios in 2001. Her competitive dance company won multiple top overalls and national titles as well as her choreography. Her dancers have been invited to perform at Tanzsommer in Austria and compete on Star Search. She now has past students dancing professionally in New York and LA. Jill is currently teaching and choreographing at several studios, judging for Star Systems, and spending time with her family and new baby girl, Jaci Marie.
Carleen Park
Carleen has been dancing since the age of three. She is trained in the areas of ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, modern, character, and hip hop. She was twelve when she began attending competitions as a part of her studio's company group and has achieved success at multiple levels. She has been a student teacher for the past seven years and has traveled to Boston, San Antonio, and most recently to Virginia Beach for national level competition, where she earned top scores and was invited into the competitions showcase. Carleen is a sophomore at the University of St. Francis, studying elementary education and is a member of their dance team. She performs at their home football games, women's basketball games, and men's basketball games.
Rachelle Sagnon, Zumba
When not busy with her husband and two children (daughter, 13, and son, 10) plus managing a hair salon (for over 22 years), Rachelle also became certified to teach Zumba after she fell in love with it over a year ago. She wants to share her love of Zumba with her students; she feels it's a dance party and not a gym workout. Zumba built up her confidence. She feels the movement makes her feel alive, sexy, and free and can do the same for her students. Come join the dance party!
Jessica Roman
Jessica has been dancing since the age of 6. She studied at L.A. Dance at the age of 20, specializing in hip-hop and competitions. During 2008-09 she was a Freedom Dancer for the Ft. Wayne football team. She's been with K. Monique's since its early days at the Y and is a certified Zumba instructor. Jessica teaches Zumba, jazz development, ballet, Company hip-hop, and Company tap.

Sonya Maldeney-Cull
Sonya started yoga in college as a way to boost her GPA. A once-weekly practice evolved off the mat and into her life in 2004. She studied and taught various styles and levels of yoga since 1991, including Iyengar, Hatha, Vinyasa, Anusara, and Yin yoga. She is a Registered Yoga Teacher, 200-level certification, and a certified instructor of YogaFit Kids yoga. Her intention as a teacher is to share the gift of yoga and all its benefits -- both on and off the mat -- to everyone.
Amy Haneline
Amy started tap dancing at the age of three in Marshall, MI. She began taking ballet, Pointe, jazz, lyrical, acrobat, Hawaiian, pom-pom and toe-tap a few years later. She competed in several local, state, and national talent competitions. She traveled to Spain, Africa, and on a Caribbean cruise ship performing a variety of dances. At the age of 13, she began teaching pre-school tap and ballet classes. In college, she choreographed and taught pom-pom routines and adult tap classes. She has been a choreographer for several community theater productions and a dance instructor for summer enrichment programs in Indianapolis, in addition to a cheerleading coach and the director of the cheerleading program for Upward Sports. Amy has a bachelors and masters degree in Education with a minor in the Integration of the Creative Arts. She taught kindergarten for 13 years and is currently a developmental therapist for children ages birth-3 years old. Amy was a competitive dance student at K. Monique’s Studio of Dance for three years. She began teaching Zumba at K. Monique’s Fitness Center in January 2011.
Joann Perez Hudson
Joann has 30 years of combined dance experience in ballet, jazz, modern, Polynesian, tap, ballroom, African, and hiphop. She began her dance training at age 16 on Guam and became a professional dancer in a few local dance companies and was hired as an entertainer at Pacific Islands Club (PIC) Resort. She later became Entertainment Director at PIC. After moving to the United States with her husband in 1988, Joann earned a B.S. in Theatre with an emphasis in dance from Kansas State University in 1992. Joann has trained, performed, instructed, and choreographed in Virginia, Kansas, Missouri, Texas, Arkansas, and Indiana. Joann earned a Zumba Basics I certification in February 2011 and became a Zumba instructor for K. Monique's in March 2011. She continues to attend adult dance classes at the Fort Wayne Dance Collective and K. Monique's. Joann is a wife, mother, and on-call physical therapist assistant.
